Mary Gets Surprise Birthday Present from Daughter in Canada

The reputation of the Sunday for Sammy shows has reached the other side of the Atlantic and one ex pat Geordie is making the 4400 mile journey to see the show for a very special reason.

Louise Allison from Vancouver in Canada is flying home to Newcastle see the show and as a special birthday surprise she’s taking her mum Mary with her to celebrate her 80th birthday.

Mary Allison from Blyth had a birthday to remember when her daughter sent her a live video message from across the pond to wish her many happy returns. Unknown to her, Allison had booked tickets for the show last year when they went on sale. Her mum loves Sunday for Sammy and was delighted to hear via the video link that she had a ticket and even more surprised when it was announced that her daughter was flying home especially to take her.

Mary’s reaction back home in Blyth was filmed by Allison to share with her family.

“My mum loves Sunday for Sammy and I couldn’t think of a better 80th birthday surprise for her. It’s been difficult to keep it a secret especially the fact that I’m coming all the way back home to take her.”

The Arena has seen steady, sustained sales after an initial rush for the best seats in the house. When it was announced that Jimmy Nail was appearing in the show, ticket sales increased and coupled with high volume pre Christmas sales, the venue has now sold out.

The show is packed with familiar famous Geordie faces and a whole host of celebrity guests. As ever, the cast list is a closely guarded secret to highten the excitement and entertainment factor for the audience.

Although no tickets currently remain on sale, last minute fans have a Ray of hope in the form of producer Ray Laidlaw:

“We’re in the final stages of production, finalising technical positions for the camera crew and special effects team. Once the plans are set, we should be able to release new seats on a first come first served basis.”

Ray added “We’ll be announcing when the production tickets are going on sale in the press and on social media as soon as we know. Like everything with Sunday for Sammy tickets, it’s get in quick before they go and never give up.”
