Bay City Rollers Return to Blyth Live to Finish What They Started
Blyth Live Music Festival have announced the return of legendary pop icons Bay City Rollers after their performance was dramatically cut short in 2025.
Festival goers will remember last year’s unforgettable headline set in Blyth, when the Rollers were midway through their iconic hit “Bye Bye Baby” as an unexpected thunderstorm swept across the site. With safety the top priority, organisers made the difficult decision to cut power to the stage, bringing the show to an abrupt but memorable end.
Now, in a gesture that reflects both their dedication to fans and their enduring love of live performance, the Bay City Rollers have confirmed they will return to Blyth Live this year to complete their set properly.
This year’s festival will take place on Saturday June 20th, and is free to attend, continuing its commitment to accessible live music for the whole community. Organised and delivered by Blyth Town Council, the event has become a standout date in the North East calendar.
Organisers have also confirmed that D-Ream will headline the festival, promising a huge finale packed with iconic dance anthems.

The Mayor of Blyth Cllr Mark Peart said: “We are delighted to appoint Owen as Blyth’s first-ever Mayoral Cadet. His commitment, maturity and enthusiasm have made a real impression, and he will be a fantastic representative for young people in our town.
“This new role reflects our desire to celebrate the contribution young people make to civic life and to strengthen our links with the cadet forces and wider community.”
Blyth Town Council also extended its thanks to the Ashington Sea Cadets and the Bede Academy Royal Navy Combined Cadet Force for their considered and impressive nominations, highlighting the commitment, professionalism and dedication shown by young people across the area.
