Two Midwives Launch Clinic to Give Families “Time and Reassurance” During Pregnancy
Two experienced NHS professionals have launched a new pregnancy scanning clinic in North Tyneside, aiming to give expectant families more time, reassurance and a more personal experience during pregnancy.
Sereniti Scan, based in Benton’s North Tyne Industrial Estate, has been founded by highly experienced midwives and sonographers Jennifer Moore and Victoria Hamoodi, who together bring more than four decades of combined experience in maternity care, ultrasound and fetal medicine.
Jennifer has been a midwife for over 20 years, supporting thousands of families through pregnancy, labour and beyond. For the past 15 years she has specialised in ultrasound and fetal medicine, combining strong clinical expertise with genuine compassion. As a mother of two teenage boys, she brings a deep personal understanding of both the excitement and anxieties that come with pregnancy, ensuring every family receives care that is personal, reassuring and delivered to the highest professional standards.
Victoria has been a midwife for almost 20 years, with experience across all areas of maternity care. Over the last 13 years she has specialised in ultrasound within both the NHS and private sector, providing expert, confident and supportive care. As a mother of three, she brings warmth, empathy and professionalism to every appointment, ensuring each scan is both thorough and memorable.
The pair say the idea for Sereniti Scan has been “a long time coming” after witnessing how pressures within the NHS have changed the experience for many families.
“We both still absolutely love our NHS roles and are very proud of the work we do,” said Victoria. “But the reality is there are pressures on the system that are outside of our control. Appointments are often much more rushed now, and families don’t always get the time and reassurance they would like.
“We wanted to create somewhere calm, welcoming and personal, where families can enjoy the experience and ask questions without feeling rushed.”
Sereniti Scan offers private pregnancy scans including 4D imaging, early pregnancy reassurance scans, gender scans and screening services. The clinic is equipped with a brand new 4D ultrasound machine, designed to provide detailed images and memorable keepsakes for families. The clinic also offers screening and blood testing services, including first trimester screening for certain chromosomal conditions and gender blood tests.
The founders say modern pregnancy celebrations, including gender reveals and family gatherings, have changed the way many people view pregnancy scans.
“One of the lovely things about private scanning is that families can share the experience together,” Victoria explained. “Within the NHS there are often restrictions on numbers attending appointments, but here grandparents, children and partners can all be involved in that special moment.”
Located within the No 33 business hub in Benton, the clinic has been designed with accessibility in mind, offering easy parking and convenient links from the A19, Newcastle and surrounding areas.
Between them, Jennifer and Victoria have supported and scanned thousands of babies during careers spanning more than two decades and say Sereniti Scan allows them to return to what matters most: time, care and connection with families.
