A teenage girl from Forest Hall has won the title of Miss Junior Teen Tyne and Wear 2018 and now finds herself heading to Blackpool in October to compete in the Grand Final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain.
Lauren Scobie, (15) a pupil at Monkseaton High School won the regional title and a place in the prestigious grand-final after competing against other teenagers from Tyne and Wear.
Miss Junior Teen Great Britain is a fun pageant created to be a positive and confidence-building experience for young girls and teenagers. Unlike traditional adult competitions, Miss Junior Teen Great Britain has a larger emphasis on the interview section which brings out the entrant’s personality and builds self-confidence. Contestants are also encouraged to support charity and Lauren has arranged a sponsored walk for Ward 4 of the RVI (CCR) and is raising money for children’s charity Together for Short Lives which supports children’s hospices and families with terminally ill children.
The competition offers teenagers the chance to participate in a competition that combines glamour and celebrating their success and achievements, something which Lauren is excited and proud to be a part of.
‘ It’s been great fun so far and I am looking forward to representing Tyne and Wear in Blackpool in October. I’ve made lots of new friends and if I win I will have an amazing year ahead of me with appearances, charity work and perhaps even modelling opportunities,” said Lauren.
The Grand Final of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain will be held on Sunday 21st October 2018 at The Globe in Blackpool. The weekend of Miss Junior Teen Great Britain is set to be full of fun, with the finalists enjoying a Beauty Queen Pageant day, a pyjama diva party and much more.
The winner will walk away with a prize of £500, new dresses, a sparkling sash and crown and many opportunities throughout the year.
Lauren has also received immense support from local businesses including Dr Shoelittle, Michael Grayson, Lash Caviar, Couture Dress Crowning, CombiCare by A Scott gas services, Lexus Newcastle and Highlights PR.
Proud mum Kerry said: “Lauren has put a lot of hard work into the competition and I’ve seen her grow in confidence with every event she attends. We’re all right behind her and looking forward to Blackpool.”
