Cod Bless Ye Merry Gentlemen

Dec 7, 2019

Customers queuing for their Christmas fish and chips will be treated to festive tunes and carols with any donations from kind hearted patrons going to help those in need at Christmas.

The Harbour View Fish and Chip Restaurant in Seaton Sluice is hosting carol singers from St Paul’s Church on the evening of Friday 20thDecember to serenade their customers as they wait for their food. All proceeds from the festive singers will be donated to Blyth Food Bank.

The restaurant, voted the fourth best in the UK by Trip Advisor regularly has queues of people waiting for their food but at this time of year, manager Waseem Mir decided it would be a good idea to entertain his customers and help others in the area at the same time.

The Blyth Food Bank helps people in dire need and has distribution centres in Seaton Delaval and Blyth. The bank is always looking for tins of fruit and vegetables, rice puddings, jars of jam, mash (dried), tins of meat or fish and deodorants and shower gel.

Manager Waseem Mir said, “It’s very easy to forget that there are many people who are struggling to feed their families at this time of the year. Although we are donating cash to the Food Bank from the carol singers we are also happy to take in donations of tins to pass on. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.”
