Customers queuing for their Christmas fish and chips were treated to festive tunes and carols by a choir made up of fund-raising locals.
Volunteers from nearby villages were asked by the Harbour View Fish and Chip Restaurant in Seaton Sluice to serenade their customers as they waited for their food.
The restaurant, voted the fourth best in the UK by Trip Advisor regularly has queues of people waiting for their food but at this time of year, manager Waseem Mir decided it would be a good idea to entertain his customers.
Songs that would have been great for this time of year included “Cod rest ye merry gentlemen,” “Santa Jaws is coming to town” and “Peas on Earth.”
The success of the Harbour View Restaurant can be traced back to excellent customer service; a passion for food and a reputation for only serving the best quality produce. Everything is cooked to order and queues often stretch out of the door, indeed, the restaurant has regular customers from Scotland and Yorkshire who visit for their weekly fish and chip tea.
Manager Waseem Mir said, “We really appreciate our customers as they come to us in all weathers, all year round. We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas.”
The funds raised by the choir and Harbour View customers will be donated to a Blyth foodbank charity.
