One of Northumberland’s largest firework festivals has been hailed a success as more than 22,000 people turned out to watch the free spectacular.

Hosted by Blyth Town Council, the event on Saturday 3rd November took place at Mermaid Car Park – the site of the popular Northumberland Live Festival at Blyth. As well as a tremendous firework display, musical entertainment was provided by a variety of superbsingers and DJ’s and also Metro Radio. In addition, a fun fair, street entertainers and catering facilities were on hand to ensure that the public received a Fireworks Festival to remember.

Blyth Town Council’s Kath Nisbet said,” We’ve had estimates of more than 22,000 people coming to the event which I think is fantastic. We’re delighted that so many peope in Blyth decided to come to our well organised and safe event.”
