An expert in debt management is encouraging Tynedale’s business community to prosper by working together, networking and keeping business local.
Pam Oliver whose Throckley based business, A1 Debt Advisory Solutions helps people to manage personal and business debt has taken on the role of director at the newly formed Vallum Chapter of BNI (Business Network International). Members meet over breakfast every Tuesday morning at the Poacher’s Cottage in Callerton village, to generate business for themselves and each other. Already the network has grown and members are benefiting from meeting new people, finding out about each other’s business and passing on work from third party contacts.
BNI was founded in the 1980’s by American management consultant, Ivan Misner who created a highly structured referral group with the philosophy of “givers gain”. Now, the organisation has grown to more than 6850 chapters with 139,971 members worldwide passing 6.9 million referrals worth 2.8 billion euros.
Pam said, “We are looking for new members from the west end of Newcastle right up the Tyne Valley to Corbridge and Hexham. The location is ideal and the early start is worth getting out of bed for as BNI really does work.”
Chapter members have the advantage of knowing that there is no business competition amongst other members as only one representative from a particular profession is allowed, effectively locking out the competition.
The Vallum Chapter is currently looking to expand its membership and has vacancies for a number of professions including a web designer, a solicitor and a business coach. Members of the Vallum BNI Chapter represent a diverse range of occupations including an independent financial advisor, an electrician, a beautician and a carpenter.
“Vallum Chapter is a vibrant group of people who want to help each other achieve even better results for their businesses. It’s much more than a networking group and we actively look for referrals for each other which will lead to tangible monetary benefits,” said Pam.
“It’s great to be able to help people find business and make money rather than having to help them when things go wrong,” said Pam.
