A once quiet, introverted Sunderland teenager who won the coveted young close up magician of the year aged just 13 has issued an invitation to his ex schoolmates to come and see for themselves how he’s used the power of the mind to overcome his shyness and build up a worldwide reputation in the entertainment world.
From the age of four, Robert Temple immersed himself into the world of magic and tricks. As an ex pupil of Sunderland High School, Robert was a popular figure in his classes performing magic tricks during break times despite feelings of shyness.
Now a successful comedy stage hypnotist with distinctive red, short, spikey hair, the enigmatic entertainer, now 27 is far from shy. He is looking forward to wowing crowds in the north of England later this month with his unique comedy hypnotism shows.
Audiences at the MILL Volvo Tyne Theatre in Newcastle will experience an entertaining mix of comedy, hypnosis, and music where the star of the show will be the audience themselves.
“When I was 14 I saw a hypnotist and wanted to add it to my skills. I started researching and watched as many hypnosis shows on TV as I could. Eventually I convinced my Dad to pay the hypnotist to teach me, “ said Robert.
Robert then studied hypnosis for the next two years and at the age of 16; he decided to take his hypnosis show on the road. After doing free shows in pubs around the North East he spent the next few summers travelling around different locations in Europe entertaining tourists on their summer holidays.
After performing more than a thousand shows, Robert decided to concentrate his mind onto producing his spectacular new theatre hypnosis show, “The Hypnotist – LIVE” which will tour across the UK.
The first pilot show in Newcastle earlier this year was a great hit and now he’s returning to do another show there. There is another local connection too as fellow North East Entertainer, Kennedy, is the director of the show.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing the show to Newcastle and catching up with friends old and new, in fact, it would be great to see some of my old school mates in the audience too. I’m sure they will see a big difference in me as my career has boosted my confidence levels and enabled me to see things differently.
“The audience can expect non-stop laughter from start to finish as I take volunteers from the audience and make them the real stars of the show.
“After the show ends, I often hear people say that they wished that they had volunteered to take part. I’d like to reassure everyone that I wouldn’t be doing anything that they will regret. “The Hypnotist – LIVE’ is very much a family show which will have everyone in stitches. I’ve also mixed hypnosis with music and comedy in a way that I feel is unique to this hilarious form of entertainment.”
The Hypnotist LIVE is on at the Mill Volvo Tyne Theatre Newcastle on Saturday 18th October. Tickets available from http://www.millvolvotynetheatre.co.uk/events/5312/robert-temple-the-hypnotist-live
