A Chartered Surveyor and Land Agent who has worked for the past decade for two of the region’s leading property consultants has come home to start his own business in his home town.
Jonathan Wallis from Barnard Castle specialises in providing advice on rural and specialist commercial property and business matters. From professional property valuations to advice on landlord and tenant matters, Jonathan has a wealth of knowledge and experience.
His new self named business, Jonathan Wallis Chartered Surveyors will, in addition to his specialist service areas listed previously, will also include independent advice on selling and purchase of rural and commercial property, rural grants and subsidies, and promotion of land for development. Jonathan is using his vast experience to help people make the right decisions with regards to property and land ownership.
“Most of my work revolves around value and making a difference for my clients. I
like to engage with people and find that making relationships and building up rapport and trust is so important. I would rather spend a few hours explaining what I’m doing for a client rather than simply sending an email. I have to make sure that they are clear on the way forward.
“I’ve always been diligent and thorough and believe in delivering the right result. I don’t stop until I get the right result. I care about my clients and like to build long term relationships with them.”
Jonathan’s caring nature has also been in evidence as he is a principal fundraiser for cancer related charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.
Every year, Jonathan organises a Christmas concert at St Nicholas Cathedral in Newcastle. The Christmas at the Cathedral Concerts feature well-known names from TV and entertainment including Denise Welch, Tim Healy, Melanie Hill as well as choirs, comedians and even the odd footballer or two. The show is produced by ex-Lindisfarne drummer, Ray Laidlaw and sells out quickly every year.
“The show is a joy to organise but it takes a lot of organisational skill. I use these same skills in my day job to ensure that everything runs smoothly for my clients. I’m always looking at costs, problem solving and ultimately delivering an excellent service to the client.”
From farming stock, Barnard Castle born and bred, Jonathan has extensive knowledge of his local area from North Yorkshire to Cumbria and Weardale as well as Newcastle where he lived for ten years.
“I’ve settled back quickly into Barnard Castle and I’m looking forward to working with new clients throughout the region,” said Jonathan.
