Masonic biker becomes TV star

A new Sky documentary series which offers a refreshing insight behind the scenes of the Freemasons is about to feature a Newcastle mason with a keen interest in motorcycling.

The series, “Inside the Freemasons” will feature Northumberland freemason Peter Younger in episode three which will air on Monday 2nd May.

As well as being an active freemason, Peter is the founding president of the Northumberland Chapter of the Widows Son’s Masonic Bikers Association and national chairman.

The Widows Sons is open to all Freemasons who enjoy the sport of motorcycling and together they help to raise awareness of the work of the organisation as well as raising much needed funds for charity themselves. Indeed, last year, £80,000 was raised by 600 members.

In the documentary, Peter explains how the Widows Sons and the freemasons helped him with support when he tragically lost his wife in 2015.

“The support I received at the time was amazing. From letters from bikers across the globe to professional counselling arranged by the Masonic Charitable Trust, I felt that I had a lot of friends and support at a time when my family and I needed it.

“I really enjoyed being involved in the Sky TV series, some of the footage is unprecedented and I hope that it will dispel a few myths and encourage more people to find out more for themselves. I’d hope that some will perhaps join us too.”
