Mayor Thanks Blyth

Nov 20, 2018

More than 5000 people filled the Market Square to see the annual switch on of Blyth’s festive lights and witnessed top class entertainment and Christmas cheer.

Blyth Town Council arranged the magical Christmas themed day next and as well as  the weekly market there was a Christmas Craft market, street theatre, hot festive food  and a magical Christmas parade. In addition, Santa and his wife Mary Christmas entertained the youngsters and top quality musical entertainment was supplied by Metro Radio, the Rock Choir and headline act Reggie n Bollie.

Blyth Town Council’s Mayor, Councillor Adrian Cartie said,” Once again, we have provided a focal point for the people of Blyth. We’ve brought everyone together to celebrate this magical time of the year and I’d like to thank those who helped in the organisation of the event.

“Big thanks go to our events team, to Leading Link for helping to bring the community together with their workshops for school children and parents and for arranging the carnival parade. Also to the young people from Silx Teen Bar, all of the entertainers and of course everyone who braved the cold to watch the lights being switched on.”
