Emma Supplies Bunting for “Yesterday” Beatles Movie.
Entrepreneur Emma Solomon is going back to her Liverpool roots after being asked to supply cotton bunting for a scene in the new Beatles themed movie, “Yesterday.”
Emma, started her uniquely named business, “Emma Bunting,” in Morpeth, Northumberland in 2004 and now has an impressive clientele including Mothercare, Cambridge University, Innocent Drinks and Crabtree and Evelyn. Her bunting is always made in the UK using quality fabrics and no plastic. Emma has strict ethical views which have helped her build up relationships with large corporate clients and individuals keen to display their green credentials.
In 2017, she supplied Warner Bros with bunting for the Paddington Bear 2 movie and in 2018 her products were featured in the “Kid Who Would Be King,” with Patrick Stewart. Now however, her talent for sourcing ethical bunting has given her something else to “twist and shout” about.
She has supplied 200m of rainbow coloured bunting for a gig scene at the start of the new movie, “Yesterday,” aBritish musical comedy directed by Danny Boyle and written by Richard Curtis.
The movie tells the story of a young musician (Himesh Patel)who, after an accident, finds himself as the only person who remembers The Beatles. He becomes a superstar after taking the credit for writing and performing their songs.
The movie holds positive childhood memories for Emma thanks to her experiences growing up in Liverpool in the 1970’s.
“I remember vividly singing the song “When I’m 64” in music lessons at school and thinking that was about really old people. I was brought up in the Allerton area of Liverpool, near to Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane so The Beatles were a big part of my childhood as well as my parents and all my friends. Everywhere I go when people ask me where I was brought up and I say Liverpool, they comment on The Beatles. I’m incredibly proud to have contributed in a small way to the success of this movie.”
