A Newcastle based internet design & marketing company has developed a new free on line networking website where businesses don’t have to leave the comfort of their offices to enjoy the benefits associated with traditional face to face networking.
Eric Cuthbert and Linda Francis, who together run there-fore.com, have created a free on-line community where businesses large and small can network more efficiently. Designed to be user friendly, the www.network2day.co.uk site has already been described as a “face book for businesses” and is being used to complement the work done by existing independent and paid networking organisations throughout the UK.
The community is particularly beneficial for businesses and networking groups that don’t already own their own website as users can log in and use free blogs, video conferencing, classified ads and discussion boards to help get their business message across.
Linda and Eric first met when they worked for a graphic design company where Linda achieved tremendous sales figures as a telesales clerk. When Eric decided to leave to start there-fore.com, it was an easy, natural choice to take Linda with him to manage the sales and marketing processes for the business. “Having worked together for so long, Linda was the obvious person to help our business grow,” said Eric. “It’s a great example to illustrate the fact that when you get to know someone the business comes along much more naturally. The new web based community complements the work of other networking groups by acting as a hub for businesses to interact with each other on a regional and national scale. Indeed, the idea came about following Eric’s positive experiences with traditional fee charging networking groups. “Linda and I do a lot to help our clients market their business more effectively and this website was a natural progression based on the benefits of business and social networking,” said Eric. “Our business has been built up through word of mouth referrals from satisfied clients, many of which came from networking groups such as BNI and this site allows groups and individuals to network much more efficiently and at a lower cost than other methods.”
