If making 2016 a healthier year was one of your New Year’s resolutions that has fallen off the radar, there is still time to get back on track with a visit to the Newcastle Health & Wellness Fair.
Now in its second year, the event will bring together health and wellness experts from around the UK to Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday January 30. Exhibitors will be offering advice, guidance and products to people in pursuit of a healthier lifestyle and visitors can hear keynote speakers and take part in exercise class tasters. There are also some spaces available for business that would like to exhibit at the Fair.
The health and wellness showcase is the brainchild of chiropractor Hester Potts, who owns Centred Chiropractic in Newcastle city centre.
Hester, who was born in Canada and has lived in the UK for 14 years and the North East for eight, has made it her mission to turn Newcastle into the UK’s healthiest city.
The mum of two said: “I am passionate about making the North East a healthier place to live and raise a family. My goal is to create awareness of the resources people have in their very own community.
“I have a desire to help small and medium sized businesses connect with their target market so we can all be healthy and successful.”
Hester works with people of all ages at Centred Chiropractic, treating complaints such as backaches and headaches. She concentrates on the health of the spine and nervous system, which are connected to just about every function of the body.
She said: “I take a holistic approach to health. So many other problems are linked to the spine and nervous system.
“Once people realise that, they tend to take a greater interest in their health and start asking more questions. We’ll be offering free chiropractic assessments at the fair just like we do at the clinic. Anything we can do to make Newcastle healthier we’ll do.”
“The Newcastle Health & Wellness Fair was inspired by their questions and brings together the specialists, products and services that people want to know about all in one place.”
Visitors to the show will be able to ask questions, listen to presentations on topics such as raw food and general nutrition, sample skin and complementary therapy products, and see the newest and most innovative health and lifestyle equipment on the market. There will also be the opportunity to try yoga and different exercise classes at demonstrations throughout the day.
Tickets for the event, which runs from 10am – 4.30pm, are available via the website at www.healthandwellnessfair.co.uk. Exhibitors interested in taking space at the fair can contact hester@centredchiropractic.com for details.
