Ceilidh Comes to Amble
One of Northumbria’s best-known folk musicians is playing a special concert in Amble and he’s asking people to come and banish the winter blues by joining in with his one-man ceilidh.
Alistair Anderson’s Amazing One-Man Ceilidh in Amble will play at The Dovecote Centre, Amble on Saturday 7 December at 7.30pm.
Traditionally, a ceilidh consists of a number of musicians plus a dance caller but talented Alistair is doing it all himself. He promises an evening of dancing, good music and lively chat. He will play the Concertina and the Northumbrian Pipes during the show.
A ceilidh is social dance that anyone can do. The dance caller talks you through and keeps you right – though sometimes going the wrong way is part of the fun. It is suitable for all the family and a great way to bring people together – perfect for a pre-Christmas gathering.
Tickets are on sale now priced £8 (£5 under 18s)
