Newly formed local punk rock bands The Syndicate and Maximum Zeroes will come together with The Longsands (playing an acoustic set with two members) for a special charity gig on Saturday 23 June 2012. The gig will take place at The Wheatsheaf, Callerton Park and all proceeds will go to local charity Self Unlimited.
Guitarist, Gaz Gray who works for Self Unlimited, hopes the event will bring together many of the fans who followed his previous band, Total Chaos, in the early 80s.
“ I think a lot of people will be surprised at our style now which fuses punk, good old rock `n` roll and folk music together. It should be a great night – raising money for a great local charity” he said.
In addition to the music, there will be a retro clothing fashion show, a raffle and a hog roast.
Radio Northumberland’s punk presenter, Keith “New Wave” Newman, has been featuring The Syndicate on his show regularly.
“I was one of the lucky ones to be part of the late 70’s punk scene and it’s wonderful to see the band reincarnated in such a fresh way. It will be a great event and a good cause to support,” he said.
Tickets are £5 and are available from Self Unlimited Ponteland – Tel: 01661 860 333 or Email: northeast@selfunlimited.co.uk
