A Whitley Bay café owner has provided medical staff at Cramlington NSECH Hospital with takeaway food made with as much love and care as the staff are giving their patients.
Sangeeta Chopra who owns Namaste: A Taste of India café, deli and store in Whitley Bay wanted to do her bit for the NHS by supplying healthy Indian food to key hospital staff.

“I wanted to help the NHS somehow and the festival of Durga Ashtmi is a very important time in the Hindu calendar. I thought that would be a good time to supply NHS front line workers with healthy food to keep them nourished during their busy shifts.”
Sangeeta prepared a traditional Indian Vegan meal for the staff comprising of Rice, Tarka Daal, Bombay Potato and chick peas with a dessert consisting of Gulab Jamans and also Semolina (Halva) which is offered to God at Hindu temples then shared amongst the people.
