A successful recruitment professional has swapped her Tyneside base for a lifestyle changing move into the heart of the beautiful Northumberland countryside.

Sara Eke whose company, Sara Eke Recruitment is celebrating six years in business decided to move north after owning a holiday home in Christon Bank for more than fifteen years and realising that with today’s technology she could still effectively conduct her business from anywhere. Now Sara and husband Brian have moved into their new home in the picturesque village of Rock, near Alnwick and already they are enjoying the benefits of living in the countryside.

Swapping busy roads for rural lanes and the banks of the Tyne for stunning views of the sea at Low Newton which is visible from her home based office window, Sara believes that the move can enhance her business and that her new location is well placed to help attract more local clients.

Although most of Sara’s clients are based in the Tyneside area, she also works all over the North East and specialises in recruiting commercial staff within Secretarial, Administration, Business Development and Marketing roles. To ensure that she offers the best possible professional and personal service, she insists on interviewing every candidate herself. “My home office is where I do most of the administration work for the business and I use hotels all over the region to interview my candidates,” said Sara. “I also think it is very important to regularly visit each of my clients at their business premises to find out exactly what their recruitment needs are.”

The people of Rock have also welcomed Sara and Brian with open arms and the couple already feels that they are an integrated part of the community.

“Living in Rock has added a new dimension to both my personal life and my business as the quality of life here is fantastic,” said Sara. “The big difference is the pace of life compared to Tyneside. It is very quiet and gives me much more time to think, which means that I get things done much quicker. If I do need to be in Tyneside I can still be there within an hour so I have the very best of both worlds.”
