Blyth was invaded by friendly pirates at the annual Blyth Town Carnival on July 6th. Organised by local charity Leading Link, this year’s carnival was an unforgettable event with a swashbuckling pirate theme that delighted attendees of all ages despite the occasional deluge of rain.
“The Pirates Takeover,” featured school children dressed as mini pirates, a parade with a 30-foot drivable pirate ship, and a lively atmosphere filled with smoke, chanting, and laughter.
Working closely with Blyth Town Council, Leading Link used its extensive relationships with businesses, schools, community groups, residents’ associations, and their team of Young Leaders to ensure the successful delivery and operation of the event.
The event also featured a range of food vendors, an activity zone, a creative zone, carnival rides and a stage with entertainment for the afternoon. Added to this was street entertainment, a pirate ship and shows provided by Q20 events. The official taxi sponsor for the carnival was Phoenix Taxis.
