Skiffle Music Doesn’t Lose Its Flavour in Seaton Sluice

Nov 20, 2023

From the Cumberland Gap to closing the generation gap, musician Peter Donegan, son of music legend Lonnie Donegan, is set to perform at Seaton Sluice Club on Saturday, November 25th to an audience of both the young and not so young.

Peter Donegan, the talented son of Skiffle icon Lonnie Donegan, is known for his captivating country music-based performances and an appearance on BBC’s The Voice where he sang with Tom Jones and demonstrated his musical prowess. Both Peter and his single ‘Thank You Texas’ won awards for ‘Best Male Vocalist’ and ‘Best Original Song’ respectively at the Texas Sounds International Country Music Awards 2020.

Peter is backed by a band with the highest musical credentials. On bass, Michael Bailey who amongst others plays with The Lindisfarne Story Band, his wife Rachel on keyboards, Mark Anderson on guitar and on drums, ex Lindisfarne drummer Ray Laidlaw.

The event promises to be a night filled with great music, both old and new, celebrating the timeless appeal of his father’s music and Peter’s own extensive back catalogue.

“I’m looking forward to playing Seaton Sluice Social Club, it’s a great venue in a lovely seaside village and with an expected sell-out crowd we will take our audience back in time to experience the songs that my dad entertained so many people with back in the day. I’m really looking forward to it,” said Peter.

Tickets for the event on Saturday 25th November at Seaton Sluice Social Club are obtainable from the club or call Julie on 07944 338026
