Jackie Webster, a well-being coach based in Arlington Beccott near Barnstaple, North Devon, is pioneering a unique approach to wellness by exploring the correlation between where people live and their overall well-being. With over a decade of experience in coaching, Jacqueline has created a niche service and helped countless clients find their ideal home – not just a place to live, but a space that nurtures their mental, emotional, and physical health.
Having spent years as a remedial massage therapist, Jackie transitioned into coaching after working extensively with clients suffering from chronic exhaustion, fatigue, and fibromyalgia. Over time, her practice expanded into a more holistic approach, integrating elements of spirituality and faith, which she credits as a vital source of strength in today’s fast-paced world hence the name of her business Soul Purpose.
“I’ve always been told that my massage sessions were more than just a massage. It was about creating a sense of well-being that extended beyond the physical. That’s exactly what I strive to do in my coaching – helping people create an environment where they truly thrive,” says Jackie.
What sets her apart is the ability to identify when a person’s environment is negatively impacting their well-being. Through her coaching, she helps clients recognise the emotional and psychological effects of their surroundings and empowers them to make life-changing decisions – sometimes even relocating to a place that better aligns with their needs.
Her approach is gaining recognition as more individuals realise that where they live directly affects their happiness and health. “Some of my clients feel emotionally trapped in spaces that don’t serve them. They long for nature but live in a concrete jungle, or they crave peace but are surrounded by noise. Helping them move to a location that truly supports their well-being has been transformative,” she explains.
Despite being based in Devon, Jackie’s work is entirely online, with clients spread across the UK and internationally, from Madrid to other parts of Europe. “The internet is a wonderful tool. It allows me to work with people no matter where they are – the only challenge is time zones!” she adds.
As spring approaches, Jackie encourages people to take a fresh approach to their well-being. “Spring is a time of renewal. It’s not just about cleaning your home but also about refreshing your mind. Small changes – whether it’s opening a window, stepping outside for fresh air, or considering a bigger life shift – can make a huge difference,” she advises.
Having moved around 15 times herself, Jacqueline understands the challenges and emotional complexities of relocation. She has firsthand experience of how life transitions, from relationship changes to career shifts, often lead to moves – both planned and unexpected.
Her personal journey to North Devon was inspired by childhood memories and the desire to be closer to the beach. “I’ve helped so many clients relocate to places that bring them peace and joy. It was time to take my own advice,” she says. Now, she and her husband are preparing for one final move to be nearer to the sea at Woolacombe to create their perfect home environment.
Jackie works with a diverse range of clients navigating major life transitions, from those adjusting to a new chapter after a significant change to individuals seeking a fresh start in a new place. “One of my most inspiring clients made a bold move later in life and now enjoys a home where they feel truly at ease,” she shares. Another client embraced a completely new beginning in a faraway destination, with Jackie providing guidance and support throughout the journey.
“My role isn’t just about moving house – it’s about helping people step into a new chapter of their lives with confidence,” she says. “If I can be a small part of that transformation, then my job is done.”
