Union J fly flag at Blyth for Christmas

A full day of all things Christmassy is on the way for Blyth as the town celebrates the Yuletide season by switching on its festive lights.

 

Blyth Town Council have arranged a magical Christmas themed day next Friday (17th Nov) The weekly Blyth Market will see the addition of the artisan market and the teenage market who are all budding young business people drawn from schools in Northumberland, street theatre, Northumbria Police are bringing along the mini cops and of course Father Christmas and his wife Mary Christmas. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Sunshine Panners  Steel Band  who will be joined by choirs from local schools and X- Factor finalists Union J.

 

Boy band, Union J finished fourth in the 2012 X Factor finals and were subsequently signed to RCA Records. Their self-titled debut album peaked at number 6 on the UK Albums Chart.

 

Blyth Town Council’s Kath Nesbitt said,” Once again, we are providing top quality entertainment in Blyth for all the family. The Christmas Market is a great opportunity to buy local presents and decorations for the home.

 

“Union J have a large following and I’m sure they’ll help to draw a huge crowd to watch the town transformed when our Christmas Lights are switched on. Everyone should wrap up well and we’ll do our best to send Christmas warmth to the town.”

 

The Christmas Market will run from 9am to 7pm, the teenage market hosted by Leading Link will take place from 4pm to 7pm. Musical entertainment and street theatre will start at 4pm. All activities take place in Blyth Market Place.  We have some fantastic giveaways on the night so make sure you get there early
