Talented singer songwriter, Brian English from Amble who has penned a song about Druridge Bay on behalf of the Save Druridge group is looking for anyone who loves the bay to feature as extras in the video to accompany the song.
Brian requests that people meet at the lane near to Druridge Bay Cottages (where the road bends towards Cresswell) at 11am this Sunday (29th March)
Dogs, horses, kites, boats etc. are all welcome to highlight the use of the bay by the people who want to maintain its unique character and prevent the open cast development on its doorstep.
The proposed scheme will see mining operations taking place for around 8 to 10 years with a further five years restoration period. It is anticipated that approximately 5 million tonnes will be mined in an area very close to Widdrington Village, Widdrington Station, Cresswell and Druridge Bay itself.
The song “Druridge” has already generated more than 1800 hits on his private Facebook page and local photographer Andrew Bryson will be recording the professional video of the song.
Anyone wishing to attend the video shoot can turn up or contact Highlights PR on 07814 397951 or keith@highlightspr.co.uk
