“Silent Nights, No More! Freelancers Gather for the Ultimate Christmas Mingle-fest”
Newcastle based Chris Ogle, a seasoned digital content and e-commerce strategist, is launching a unique Christmas gathering for freelancers in the creative sector.
Known for his hands-on approach to solving online sales and engagement challenges, Chris works with businesses to enhance their web presence, optimise online sales channels, and navigate the complexities of digital marketing. This December, he’s inviting freelancers in marketing, tech, and digital fields to join a festive gathering to share ideas, build connections, and celebrate the season together.
Chris founded Ogle Digital, his consulting agency, earlier this year, specialising in diagnosing and resolving issues that prevent online stores from reaching their full potential. Drawing on over a decade of experience in leading digital agencies, he assists clients in boosting e-commerce success on platforms like Shopify and others by offering fresh insights and troubleshooting issues such as website design, customer engagement, and sales optimisation. His approach is a blend of analytical strategy and practical fixes, tailored to ensure that even small businesses and brands can achieve meaningful growth.
“One of the biggest challenges online businesses faces is the disconnect between a well-designed website and actual sales,” says Chris. “I dive into areas like traffic flow, site design, and product merchandising to identify where improvements can be made. Simple adjustments can often make a world of difference in conversion rates.”
Chris’s diagnostic process often involves a comprehensive review of a client’s online storefront, from analysing site traffic and user experience to evaluating customer retention strategies. By identifying pain points and recommending actionable steps, he helps clients enhance user engagement, increase sales, and improve overall profitability. His work with Ogle Digital reflects a holistic approach that combines a strategic audit with practical, prioritised recommendations for improvement, from SEO and ad management to better product presentation and customer re-engagement tactics.
However, despite the rewarding aspects of freelancing, Chris acknowledges the unique challenges faced by those who work alone. Isolation and lack of social support are major issues in the freelancing world, especially in creative fields where collaboration can inspire new ideas, provide helpful feedback, and support mental well-being. Many freelancers miss out on office culture—impromptu chats, brainstorming sessions, and simply having someone to share the day’s ups and downs. Over time, working alone can lead to increased stress, loneliness, and burnout.
His Freelancers’ Christmas Party, taking place on December 6th at Café Adaluz, offers a remedy: a lively, welcoming space where freelancers can meet, share experiences, and find camaraderie in a festive environment.
“Working on my own has its perks, but the isolation can get to you,” Chris says. “That’s why I wanted to create an event where freelancers can step away from their screens, meet like-minded individuals, and share in the holiday spirit. Sometimes, all it takes is a conversation with a fellow creative to spark a fresh idea or offer a new perspective. This kind of gathering can provide the social interaction that’s missing in a lot of freelancers’ day-to-day lives.”
With over 20 freelancers already signed up, the gathering promises a chance to not only build connections but also share solutions to the unique challenges of freelancing. For many, meeting in person can provide fresh perspectives, insights, and even potential partnerships that digital interactions simply can’t offer.
