Nostalgic Punk Rock Pioneers Set to Perform at The Queen’s Hall Hexham and The Witham in Barnard Castle
One of the seminal bands that laid the foundation for the punk era, Eddie & The Hot Rods, is gearing up to unleash their raw and in-your-face rock ‘n’ roll-on North-East venues this February. With a legacy spanning over 40 years, the band remains a living testament to the vibrant musical and cultural movements born in the UK.
Despite the untimely passing of founder member Barrie Masters in October 2019, Eddie & The Hot Rods are committed to carrying on their legacy. The band is now fronted by Ian ‘Dipster’ Dean on vocals, along with Simon Bowley on drums, Richard Holgarth on guitar, and bassist Mic Stoner (formerly of Chords UK).
Their latest album, “Guardians Of The Legacy,” released after Masters’ passing, pays homage to the band’s rich musical and lyrical history. The album features a high-energy mix of new tracks like “Poor Old Me,” “Secret Smile” and “Heritage,” which when played live complement the old classics like “Teenage Depression,” “Quit This Town,” “Life On The Line,” “Gloria,” and the iconic “Do Anything You Wanna Do.”
Eddie & The Hot Rods are set to captivate audiences at The Queen’s Hall Hexham on 14th February and The Witham in Barnard Castle on 16th February. The Hexham gig will be supported by Falkirk punks The Media Whores, while Blue Scarrow will share the stage at Barnard Castle.
Don’t miss the chance to witness a legendary band that continues to embody the spirit of punk rock while celebrating its enduring legacy. Secure your tickets online through the respective venue websites and get ready for a night of loud, fast, and unforgettable rock ‘n’ roll.
