Extreme Ghost Hunters Pitch For TV

Aug 2, 2011

An on-screen encounter with a heart-broken ghost looks set to launch the TV career of a pair of natural born North East ghost-hunters.

Psychic medium Paul Green and Extreme Ghost Hunter, Stephen Lambert are hoping their ten-minute pilot show “The Ghost of Emma”, will be a big hit with viewers.

Filmed on location during a real-life ghost-hunt at Kielder Castle, the show follows the duo as they make contact with love-lorn servant girl Emma, a stable boy and even a host of former Dukes of Northumberland. Now being edited, the show will be sent to TV commissioners and will also be available to download from their website and YouTube channel.

“We want our show to really let people know what it feels like being at one with the elements and alone facing your fears. There are no gadgets or technological aids. It’s just me, Paul and the ghosts and they really do talk to us. It was such a thrill to film at Kielder,” said Stephen, who is from Killingworth.”There just seems to be something in the way we work that really attracts the spirits. We don’t always find something, but we’re not afraid to take chances on places where there has been no history of psychic phenomenon before and it’s amazing what we find.”

Kielder Castle has long been a favourite haunt for the pair and features in their book The Psychic Biker meets the Extreme Ghost Hunter, which launched July 2011. In fact the pair have been so often they have bonded with the ghosts, especially Emma.

Former oil-rig worker Paul, who lives in Whittingham, Northumberland, is known as the Psychic Biker due to his six foot frame and tattoos, but he is a gentle giant who discovered his talent as a medium while studying the art of meditation.

Distribution Manager Stephen has had experiences with the paranormal since the death of his grandfather when he was a young boy. His form of ghost-hunting is extreme because he frequently carries out hunts and investigations alone with no back-up. The pair first met at a ghost-hunting investigation at the Wallaw Cinema in Blyth and hit it off instantly.

“We found that our individual skills on investigations and in life complemented each other’s perfectly and we had similar thoughts on how ghost hunting should be done. We keep each other grounded. After a number of years working together we decided to combine our efforts,” said Paul.

Paul and Stephen now have their own business, Extreme Ghost Hunting, to give ordinary people, even sceptics, personal experiences of ghosts. It has brought them an army of followers and their no-nonsense and sensitive handling of the art means they’re often given access to places denied to other groups and companies and get the opportunity to probe previously-uninvestigated locations.
