A County Durham-based business, which handles property based insurance claims and renovation work on behalf of landlords, individuals and businesses, is expanding its successful business model with a franchise offer.
Imperial Claims is a Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) regulated Claims Handling Loss Assessor. With its sister maintenance company, it offers a one-stop-shop set up to deal with insurance claims and carry out repairs on behalf of clients across the entire UK. The business is also examining establishing franchises in Spain; Turkey and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The business was set up 11 years ago, initially operating as a lettings agent and arranging repairs for the properties that were managed. It was soon apparent that there was a commercial demand for the claim handling expertise side of the business.
Imperial Claims Consultants was born to look after clients from making the initial insurance claim to completing property repairs after an incident such as a fire, flood, storm damage, burglary, impact damage or subsidence.
The Chester-Le-Street-based service works with landlords but is also available to individual homeowners. The service is free as long as Imperial Maintenance’s’ team of contractors is used to carry out the repair work.
Business Development Manager, Nicky Middleton, who has more than two decades’ experience in the sector, said: “In this business, we see our clients go from the heartache of a ruined home to the happiness of moving back into a restored property.
“It’s a simple and hassle-free service for users that has proved incredibly popular for landlords and homeowners.
“All we ask is that clients call us first even before contacting their insurers and we will take the strain, deal with the paperwork and ensure that any payments due are processed. We also ensure that all work is carried out to a high standard.”
The business is now expanding its reach via the franchise route. Franchisees can buy into one of three businesses or all three – a letting agency for private landlords, repairs and refurbishment business, and the insurance claims handling business.
Nicky said: “We have built up trust in the industry to manage the whole claim on behalf of our clients and have decided that now is the right time to expand the business by offering others the chance to get involved through a franchise model. This is a hugely exciting time to join us as we are increasing our range of services to include insurance training; webinar knowledge sharing sessions; claims handling for indemnity claims and providing an in-house insurance dispute function for our clients”
Franchisees can buy into one or more of the businesses and build a franchise tailored to their own specific needs.
